Good morning, SCcyber Family.

Since 2013, Orange Shirt Day has become a day when we honour the Indigenous children who were taken away to residential schools in Canada.  Many of these students suffered terribly in the residential system.   Though the government of Canada has conducted the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and offered an official apology for the wrongs perpetrated on Indigenous children and families by the residential school system, many in our SCcyber family still bear witness to the lasting effects of the residential school system on their loved ones and communities.

On September 30, we honour these children by wearing an orange shirt.

SCcyber is proud to be part of creating a new legacy for Indigenous education in Canada.  Please join me in wearing orange tomorrow to honour those affected by this cruel history, and by offering your prayers for continued healing for Indigenous people and communities affected by the residential school system in Canada.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kam
